“My goal is to help you experience clarity and confidence in yourself and your life. To work through anxiety, fear, and other circumstances that prohibit you from reaching your full potential and goals. My goal is to support you to help you make significant changes”.
I was born and raised in New York. My ethnic background is African American and Italian. I'm a mother of two children ages 10, and 4. I've worked as a school educator for the past 15 years, I'm a big fan of slowing down and analyzing things to grasp a better understanding of everything that I am a part of. I currently attend Alfred University and my expected graduation is June 2021, as I am studying to become a Mental Health Therapist.
Growing up in a household of a substance abuser has left me with a lot of questions growing up that I found myself searching for answers to. Finding these answers led me to realizing that there are others in the world like me who are searching for answers. This is what has led me to become a Mental Health Therapist and help others along their quest to wellness.
My goal is to help all who long to experience true clarity and confidence in themselves and their lives, but are held back by anxiety, fear, or any other unforeseen circumstances that prohibit them from reaching their full potential and or goals. My goal is to support all in exploring their lives creatively so that they can make significant changes if need be and discover the strong, confident being that they can be.
I know from my own life experiences and many years of helping children (age 6-12), adolescence (age 13-17), young adults and older adults that putting yourself first and asking for help can kick up a lot of fears. However, I strongly believe that communication, conversation, and looking inside can help you become strong, passionate, knowledgeable and brave.
As a trained Mental health Therapist I know a lot about how to be an active listener to get a great understanding of who you are and how we can begin this journey together. Explore your dreams and thoughts through mindfulness, role-play theory and more, can develop new ways of coping creatively.
I utilize a variety of techniques including, Humanistic counseling, Cognitive counseling, Psychoanalytic counseling, Constructionist counseling, Systematic counseling, Integrative counseling, and Psychodynamic counseling in my work with clients. I bring not only my skills but my humanity, compassion, life-experiences, and culture to my work.
My hobbies are reading, spending time with my family, and traveling.
